How many people travel every year in the frigid cold? Millions, right? How many travel via remote areas where if they broke down receiving help would not be the easiest thing? Lots of people.
I remember a story several years ago where a couple took a wrong turn in the mountains – no cell phone signal and their car got stuck in snow. The husband ended up going for help and died while succumbing to freezing temperatures. The wife was eventually rescued when they were found to be long overdue to their destination.
Being prepared while traveling in the winter is just one use of the uses of the Mr. Heater Portable Propane Heater. Power goes out at home a temporary source of heat would be available as well.
I own two of them and stock up on small propane canisters all Spring and Summer.
Rourke-our ancient computer cannot do the videos-but we have two Buddy heaters and they are excellent. We have even used them camping but always remember everyone that proper ventilation
is essential. Arlene
Rourke; we own two Buddy’s … one with a single cannister that can heat a room quite well, one with 2 cannister but also rigged to hook up to a 20# tank (which we use) that can heat several rooms, and one of the new Remington’s that has a compartment built into it’s back for the 20# tank which will also heat several rooms. Even though they’re all called “ventless” we agree with Arlene…crack a window in the room(s) you’re using them in.
My husband had to go to the Er while using a big Buddy in the tent while camping. He didnt have it vented outside thinking the tent would let enough air out-so be careful but they are great for taking the chill out.Maybe they have been improves since that was 9 years ago. Arlene
We spent the weekend at a friend’s hunting camp, arriving after a heavy snowfall. I got sick along the way and couldn’t do anything but huddle under a blanket. They hooked up the Big Buddy until they got the woodstove going, and I was amazed at the amount of heat it gave off. Sooner or later I’ll manage to get one to keep at home for power outages.
I use a big buddy in the winter on days that I am planning on being at home. It is cheaper than using the wall heaters and does a good job. It is a bit of a stinker to get going the first time of the season. I have the one with the 2 heat panels and use a 20 lb tank.
