Wow, supposed to be 60 degrees today – 40 degrees yesterday!!! Had to get that out – I’m in MinnesOta with what seems like the endless winter…
What did I do to prepare this week? John from Iowa emailed me a tip the Sportsmansguide.com had a sale on marine battery holders for $20 (They do a whole lot more than hold the battery, but I need to learn before I say more.) and I purchased one and it was delivered within the week.HERE is the link to the one I bought and it has gone up in price. And then I got a great deal at an RV dealer for a used marine deep cycle battery for only $25 – something to play with and learn about solar. And of course I will share my discoveries with you!
Forty degrees on Saturday! Time to grill, but that is still buried in snow. So I broke out the electric grill and we grilled in the shoveled, snow free cement pad outside the garage that holds no car – full of fossils which we must protect. Protect the rock fossils! LOL
I remember what I wanted to share… If you go HERE you can see what I was working on for the last month with the kids activities Fossil Adventure Table. It was great! I love a bit of teaching and seeing kids get so amazed!
And I should report that no, I did not get that $2,500 artist’s grant, but know what I did that may have tipped it over the edge and gotten it. That said, I would encourage anyone who is crafty or artsy to take a look on the internet for artists grants in your area. There is a lot of FREE money out there for people who are interested in the arts (Writing, painting, sculpting, plays, creating knives, unique quilts, etc.) and want to create and sell their work. Also, for any of you who are into sustainabe ag (Aquaponics, chickens, grazing, etc.) check out those grant areas as well.
This week we have the bicycle as a preparedness necessity and more!
This site is all about YOU! The older prepper. SHARE!
Please email us at: scprepper at outlook dot com, checked a couple times a week by Rourke.
Or email me at my personal box: bcfossillady at gmail dot com, checked a couple times a day usually, when I’m not at my Mother’s. I can’t do it all by myself…
Okay Patriots, how did you prepare this week?
