What did I do to prep this week?

Excitement! I went to a Solar Workshop! And learned so much more!

Solar Workshop

It was held at our fairly local Houston Nature Center: http://www.houstonmn.com/Houstonmn/HNC.html. Home of Alice, the Great Horned Owl! Yes, I have an affinity for critters! Trailhead for the Root River Bike Trail in Houston, MN, natural playground (really cool!), bicycle art, and even woolly mammoth teeth, found in Bluff Country, on display!

” I’d put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don’t have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that.” Thomas Edison to Henry Ford, 1931

This is the opening quote from their website! You MUST go to it! Strawbale home! Homesteading! Earth Energies! Harvesting Rain Water, and MORE! I guarantee you won’t be disappointed! http://www.geopathfinder.com/4436.html

And an incredible thing happened this week, after 8 months of being gone my mama dog, Gia, was found a mile from home! Fatter than when she left! A neighbor thought they saw her and came and got me immediately. She was very shy, but once she smelled me the Joy! Gia has been missing since the fireworks last July! I put ads in newspapers, posted flyers, called police and shelters, nothing. She was living under an old topper in back of a business. I stopped and asked the owner of the business how long she had been there, he said only a month and she would never come to him. So, where was she the other seven months! A mystery; but a happy ending!

I think you all know that I am disabled. Well, I substitute taught for one day this week for a kindergarten class. Although it went well with the kids, I was a total wreck by the time I got home! It has taken me almost three days to recover from one day of work! I haven’t had that much back pain, for so long, in over a year! I am almost normal at times when I can sit, stand, walk, etc. as I can and need to. Another thing entirely when you have to do things with no option of rest!

Besides picking up some more beans and bullets, that is about it! But what a week!

And do we have a treat for you coming this week, directly from Australia—Five Generations of Stories of Survival by Harriet! And…

Preview of the week to come…..

Okay Patriots, what did YOU do this week to prep?
