Not a song per se, but a ‘verse’ that has helped me out a LOT of times in the past 40-or-so years.
From the late Frank Herbert’s “Dune” novels, “The Litany against Fear”:
“I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing….only I will remain”
If you can put up with VERY slightly off-color language, the late Warren Zevon’s “Bill Lee” (written about a former Major League Baseball pitcher who got a raw deal for being perceived as a ‘hippie’) always makes me laugh and resets my attitude after dealing with “Management Idiots” :) I have it on the MP3 player in my car, for after meetings :)
“Now I’m standing in the middle of the diamond all alone,
I always play to win, when it comes to skin and bone.”
