By Bev Sandlin,

Time to Speak Up!

The squeaky wheel gets the oil, and Rourke and I need to know what you want. You can put it in the comments or you can personally email Rourke at: emergencycd at gmail dot com, or me at: bcfossillady at gmail dot com, or copy it to both of us. For those of you who are somewhat new to SCP, it is a site created by Rourke (Modernsurvivalonline.com) at the request of MSO readers for older preppers, but there was very little written for it and it languished until he asked me to help out with it. It’s been two years and the site has a very respectable readership, but is again languishing due to lack of writing by readers.

If all of the regular readers of SCP submitted JUST ONE article,

we would have enough material for FOUR YEARS!

It takes TIME and MONEY to run this site. Rourke’s primary interest is his site Modernsurvivalonline.com. He works a full-time job, has a family with teens and community commitments. He is giving me a break right now to try to get some projects done, but we need to know what YOU WANT and are willing to DO. I’m disabled recovering from 2 strokes, this has been therapeutic for me but it takes a lot of time and I’ve been doing most of the writing again. And I have lots of projects that need to get done. So, what do you want?

Do you want the Sunday Self-Reliance Share and Q&A? It seems to be when we get the most comments and is always interesting to see what the doers are up too.

Do you want new articles everyday? If so, are YOU willing to write one?

John from Iowa has already suggested to doing posts 3 or 4 times a week. But who is going to write them?

Or do we go back to where it was before I started and just publish when someone does write something?

Are you willing to buy from our sponsors and thank them for supporting SeasonedCitizenPrepper.com?

When you shop on Amazon, are you willing to click through the SCP link?

Please talk to us folks!

What did I do to become more self-reliant this week? Besides having a scare with breast cancer – a lump high on my chest near the collar bone, and the doctor said the breast muscles go all the way to the shoulder – that turned out okay, I have been working on the garden and other projects trying to get shut down for winter.

Moving the strawberries and tarping for winter.

Moving the strawberries and plasticing plots for winter. This is about 1/8 of the garden.

Built the grill kitchen but still have bricks to lay.

Making progress on the new chicken coop.

Working on repainting all the kitchen cupboards, walls, need to lay new vinyl and put on new moulding. I got around the new stove anyway.

Need to completely redo this bathroom and get that new dishwasher in.

I've got moulding to put up in 3 rooms.

And I finally bought that Big Buddy heater before the winter sets in.

I’m the builder and painter, so all of these projects are up to me. And I have shutters and window boxes to put up and exterior doors to paint, hay to get in, etc., etc.  :)

Okay Patriots, how were you more self-reliant this week?

A prudent person foresees the danger ahead and takes precautions.

The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.”
