Prep’s this week and “Off Topic”

Prep’s this week have been slow for me – busyness has been very evident. I did manage to pick up a large of AA alkaline batteries as well as AAA batteries. Bought some additional food found on sale for the freezer – butter, some bacon, and a jar of peanut butter. I have been working on communications trying t build a homemade HAM repeater without much luck. Getting pretty frustrated.

I started the week renewed and dedicated to working out and getting healthier. Diet overall was pretty good. I weigh in at 2015 right now and have a goal of 195 by November 1st. We’ll see.

Also this is a good place for people to communicate “off topic” ideas, suggestions, discoveries, and information of all kinds.

So – how is this going to work? Simple – just leave a comment to this post on anything you wish. Tried out and loved a new recipe? Share it. Know of a good deal somewhere? Pass it on. Just experienced something and you just want to share? Feel free!

OK folks…..you asked for it.

Shoppers Outlet: Interested in preparedness? Trying to be  self-reliant? Are you frugal?  Check out a few suggested items from Amazon. Amazon offers great prices and excellent customer service.

Dirt Cheap Survival Retreat: One Man’s Solution – Excellent book! What an easy read but very informative. The author describes his own experience buying is retreat on a very strict budget – and then equipping it for survival. Highly recommended.

The Preppers Pocket Guide: 101 Easy Things You Can Do To Ready Your Home for a Disaster – Another great book. It is surprising how many of the presented ideas create that “should’a had a V8” moment and makes you say – “duh! Why didn’t I think of that?”

P-51 Can Openers, pack of 2 – I love these can openers. They are inexpensive, lightweight, portable, and they work. I have many scattered between kits and supply boxes – and the kitchen.

LifeStraw Water Filter – Awesome small water filter that is inexpensive but very simple and effective. High recommendation.

Cyalume Light Sticks – Awesome light source which requires no batteries. Also great for kids!
