Hello all –
Want to wish everyone a very, very Happy Thanksgiving.
My typical Thanksgiving will entail waking up to the smell of turkey cooking downstairs in the kitchen. Shower, brush my teeth, come downstairs and have some breakfast. Eggs and bacon and maybe pancakes. Too much really.
TV will be on and maybe watch a parade or “holiday” show. About 2:00pm dinner be served and I will consume ridiculous amounts of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn – and a family favorite “fruit salad”. The fruit salad is basically drained canned fruit cocktail with bananas and all that sits in a bed of whipping cream. Ahhhh……I can feel my arteries hardening already!
My wife wants to go to Wal-Mart to get a present for my youngest son. It is on sale for a really good price s saving $100 – probably go and do it. Then we will come home and I will put in Christmas Vacation – probably my favorite movie.
This year I am going to gather the family around at night and ask everyone what they are thankful for. I know for me it would be a very long list.
Anyone have any Thanksgiving traditions?
PS – Oh – one more thing….Here is some interesting information. Ever think about the very first Thanksgiving? Wonder what it may have been like? I have listened to this short podcast from Jason Akers several times. Check it out HERE.
