One of the beauties of a rocket stove is that it concentrates the flame directly up to the pot or pan. What I found absolutely fascinating about this video is how he uses fairly common household stuff to create an inside fuel! A half of a soda can, cotton balls and rubbing alcohol is one and diatemacous earth and rubbing alcohol in a suitable can is the other. Although the rocket stove makes it safer and concentrates the heat, I honestly think you can do with with a couple of bricks on the top of your stove and achieve the same effect – will have to try that!
