August 3rd   The kids move in…..

M and I went over and talked to Bill and Carrie about the kids moving in with us. We had already discussed it briefly before but wanted to make sure everyone was under the same understanding. Bill and Carrie were in favor of it. M and I were in favor of it. Aaron and Caleb – not so much. Aaron wanted to stay close to Amber. I was a teenage boy once – can understand that. Caleb…..that is a tough one. He lost his parents just a few weeks ago and his life has been turned upside down. Now he is moving again.

M and I spent several hours this morning setting up a bedroom for the two of them. I remembered seeing some “cool” posters in a couple of the empty houses and brought them over to make the room a little more inviting. They came over with Bill and Carrie just after dark. Everything seemed to go pretty good.

They are in the other room – each with a small LED light. Carrie said that Caleb sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night and will yell for his Mom, and then his Dad. It is just so sad.

I am going to try to do right by these kids.
