August 27th   Eric moves in with Pam, and rabbits…..

Eric has settled in with Pam. We moved the last of his stuff today. I told him that I was very proud of him and that I knew Dad would be proud as well. He took along a decent amount of food. I walked down to their place this evening and gave Eric a present- a Springfield XD9 – 9mm semi-automatic pistol. I also gave him a couple hundred rounds of ammo. Other than the XD9 – Eric’s only other gun is a stock Ruger 10/22. Hopefully he won’t NEED to use either one.

I surprised Eric with the pistol – he surprised me with rabbits. Yes, rabbits. He managed to catch a couple and built a cage behind Pam’s house. He has a male and female. He is hoping they do what rabbits do and soon will have little rabbits. He actually used a wooden box turned upside down and lifted on one end with a stick. He tied a string to the stick, baited it  and spent yesterday morning and afternoon waiting. The rabbits hopped…. the string is pulled, the box falls and the rabbit is trapped.

The neighborhood was not very happy with what happened on Hwy. 72. I am tired and need to hit the sack so not going to get into a lot of details, but folks had their hopes up. Maybe I overreacted. I mean, maybe I should have been more patient and discussed the deal. Ryan felt the same way as me while Kenny said flat out we did the right thing. Joel did not say a whole lot other than he wished things had gone different.

Me too.

So tired – need to get some sleep.
